TUCSON – The Arizona Wildcats placed five players on the Pac-12 Football All-Conference Team announced Tuesday.
Defensive back
Jace Whittaker, cornerback
Lorenzo Burns, linebacker
Colin Schooler, running back
J.J. Taylor and offensive lineman
Cody Creason were all named honorable mention by the Pac-12 Conference.
It marks the second straight year the conference has recognized Schooler and Taylor on their postseason squads. Taylor, who was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2018, ran for 721 yards and five touchdowns this season. He missed time with an injury, but still managed to average 4.9 yards per carry. Taylor also had a career-high 32 catches for 289 yards on the season. The running back from Corona, Calif., finished his career with 4,764 all-purpose yards, which ranks seventh all-time at Arizona.
Schooler earned honorable mention honors for the second straight year after another productive season from his middle linebacker spot. Schooler led the Wildcats in total tackles for the second straight year with 98 stops. He also led the team with 11 tackles-for-loss and now has 46 in his three-year career, which ranks fourth all-time at Arizona.
Whittaker finished with 55 tackles this season, along with three interceptions and six pass breakups. His 34 career pass breakups rank fourth all-time at Arizona. He patrolled the secondary with Burns, who had 47 tackles and led the team with four interceptions and seven pass breakups, while playing in all 12 games.
Creason, a Campbell Trophy semifinalist, anchored the offensive line in his senior year. In Creason's four years at Arizona, the Wildcats rushed for more yards than any other Pac-12 team.
