TUCSON, Ariz. -- Ninth-ranked Arizona softball wrapped up the Hillenbrand Invitational with a 6-0 shutout of Cal State Fullerton on Sunday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium.

The Wildcats finished the event 3-2 and are now 6-4 on the season as they prepare to head to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic next week in Palm Springs, California.

Taylor McQuillin (2-3), who led the country in shutouts last season with 15, picked up her first of 2019, giving up just three hits and striking out four without walking a batter in the complete-game masterpiece.

Reyna Carranco, a day after setting a career high with six RBI, had three more on Sunday, going 2-for-4 at the plate and driving in half of the Wildcats' runs.

Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza hit UA's Pac-12-best 20th homer of the season, her fifth of the season and 40th of her career. It was a two-run homer in the fifth.

Reyna Carranco accounted for Arizona's first three runs, plating two with a single in the second and then doubling home Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza in the fourth. Jessie Harper followed with an RBI double to make it 4-0 Wildcats after four.

In the fifth, after two quick outs, Jenna Kean singled to right to extend the inning for Palomino-Cardoza, who hit UA's ninth home run of the weekend, her fifth of the season and 40th in her career. With the homer, Palomino-Cardoza became the third fastest player in UA history to hit 40 career homers (122 games), jumping classmate Jessie Harper, who hit her 40th in her 126th career game earlier this week.
