TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats (8-5) fell to the Michigan State Spartans (2-9) by a final score of 9-5 on Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field.

Wildcats starting pitcher
Andrew Nardi, a junior left-hander, worked the second-longest outing of the year for an Arizona starter, going 6.0 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits. Nardi struck out four Spartans batters along the way and did not factor into the decision.

Left fielder
Matthew Dyer and first baseman
Tony Bullard both collected multiple hits to lead the Cats offensively. Dyer finished the night 2-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI, while Bullard went 2-for-3 with a run scored. It was the first multi-hit game of Bullard's college career.

Third baseman
Nick Quintana (1x4, R, 2 RBI, BB) logged a pair of RBI on the night, giving him his fourth multi-RBI performance of the season. Also contributing multiple RBI was right fielder
Ryan Holgate, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a pair of walks.

Freshman left-hander
Randy Abshier finished the game for Arizona on the mound, working the final 2.0 frames and limiting the Spartans to just one hit while striking out three.
