TUCSON, Ariz. -- The defending national champion Arizona Wildcats will look to defend their turf next week at the Wildcat Invitational. The Cats host a 17-team field at Sewailo Golf Club beginning on Monday.
It's been a good start to the season for the Wildcats, finishing 5th in an outstanding field at the Northrup Grumman, and then claiming a four-stroke victory at the Rebel Beach Invitational in late February. The Cats placed runner-up to UCLA in last year's Wildcat Invitational. The Wildcats are once again the highest-ranked team in the field this week.
Senior
Bianca Pagdanganan carries momentum into the tournament after placing third in the Rebel Beach Invitational and following that up with a fourth-place finish in Australia this week. Sophomore Yu-Sang finished runner-up at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, moving her into 7th place on the ANNIKA Award Watchlist.
The tournament begins Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. MST with a shotgun start. The field will be playing 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 holes to close it out on Tuesday.
