PALOS VERDES, Calif. -- The Arizona women's golf team will look to conclude its regular season on a positive note at the Pac-12 Championships on Monday. Many of the best teams in the country will be in the field.
The Wildcats bested the Pac-12 earlier this season, when they won the Pac-12 Preview by one-stroke over Cal. The Cats are rounding into form at the right time, with everyone seemingly playing their best golf of the year.
Senior
Bianca Pagdanganan won Pac-12 Player of the Month for her outstanding performance in March. Fellow senior
Haley Moore is coming off a 7th-place finish at the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Sophomore
Yu-Sang Hou has two 2nd-place finishes this spring season. Junior
Sandra Nordaas has placed inside the top 40 in every spring event, and freshman
Ya Chun Chang has finished inside the top 16 in her last four events.
"The team has been working hard, and I'm very excited about what lays ahead this week," said head coach
Laura Ianello. "We've got Palos Verdes Country Club, a golf course that our team knows very well. We played there in February.
Haley Moore, being from Southern California, has played the course a ton of times and is riding the high coming off Augusta. Same with
Yu-Sang Hou, they just got to play the best golf course in the world, Augusta National.
Bianca Pagdanganan is coming off her victory in Mexico.
Ya Chun Chang winning the low freshman award at ASU, and
Sandra Nordaas is in the lineup as well. Looking for big things from our ladies this week as we try to take home the victory."
Play kicks off on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. MST.
