Baseball Hosts Aggies at Hi Corbett on Tuesday

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (19-22) kick off an extended homestand at Hi Corbett Field by hosting the New Mexico State Aggies (30-11) on Tuesday night.

It will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams with high-powered offenses. The last time the Cats and Aggies squared off, on March 19, Arizona outslugged New Mexico State for a 14-10 victory.

Catcher Matthew Dyer, the Cats hottest hitter, is currently riding an 18-game hit streak and has raised his season batting average to .399, the 24th best mark among all NCAA Division I players.

Ziegler, 2008 and Jordan Brown, 2005)...After collecting hits in all three games at No. 3 Stanford over the weekend, Dyer claimed the longest hit streak of the Jay Johnson era (since 2016), a record which was previously held by Cody Ramer, who hit safely in 17 straight games during the 2016 season — Ramer is now the Wildcats Director of Player Development - Position Players...Over the course of Dyer's current streak — which began on March 25 at San Diego State — he has hit .481 (38x79) with 20 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, and eight RBI...The streak has raised his season batting average from .316 to his current team-best mark of .399...During the streak, Dyer has logged multiple hits 11 times, including two four-hit games and five three-hit performances.
