TUCSON, Ariz. -- After a successful 2019 season in which the Wildcats went 32-24 and boasted one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, 17 Arizona baseball players have spread out across the country to six leagues and 11 teams to continue their training with summer ball assignments.

2019 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Austin Wells will join the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the prestigious Cape Cod League. He will be joined on the Cape by outfielder Donta Williams - the 2019 Pac-12 All-Defensive team selection will play with the Cotuit Kettleers this summer.

Another top summer ball circuit, the Northwoods league, will host seven Wildcats. Right-handed pitcher Nate Brown will report to the Green Bay Booyah. Outfielder Branden Boissiere will spend his summer with the Willmar Stingers. The Mankato MoonDogs will feature a pair of Cats in outfielder Tyler Casagrande and infielder Dayton Dooney, while the La Cross Loggers carry three Arizona players in outfielder Ryan Holgate, infielder Tony Bullard, and infielder Kyson Donahue.

Four Cats head north to join teams in the Alaska Baseball League: Left-handed pitcher Randy Abshier (Mat-Su Miners), right-handed pitcher George Arias Jr. (Mat-Su Miners), left-handed pitcher Blake Peyton (Mat-Su Miners), and outfielder Blake Paugh (Anchorage Bucs).

Catcher Kobe Kato and outfielder Tate Soderstrom will both see time with Bethesda Big Train of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, Gil Luna has been placed with the Bend Elks in the West Coast League, and Jonathan Guardado rounds out the assignments with the Medicine Hat Mavericks in the Western Canadian Baseball League.
