Men Place Second, Women Finish Fourth at MPSF Championships

SEATTLE, Wash. – Arizona Track and Field wrapped up the MPSF Conference Championships on Saturday. The men finished second in the conference and the women placed fourth. The Cats also grabbed two territorial cup points.

"I'm extremely pleased with how we competed as a team on both sides," said head Track and Field coach Fred Harvey. "We outpointed ourselves on both sides. As far as team totals are concerned, our women placing fourth at this meet is huge. They did a great job of coming after it and continuing to fight. With the men, we almost won the title. It came down to the last event. We still beat everybody in the Pac-12 and there are events that we have outdoors that will make a huge difference in what we are able to do. This is a really nice building block for what we want to do outdoors. This also gave some athletes like Justice Summerset, Carlos Villarreal and Israel Oloyede a lot of confidence going into the indoor national championships. We are doing some great things and I am really looking forward to the next couple of weeks."
