TUCSON, Ariz. - Fresh off being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year by Pac-12 coaches earlier this week, Arizona forward
Zeke Nnaji was named First Team All-Pac-12 and the Newcomer of the Year in the conference by the Associated Press.
The Hopkins, Minn. native leads the Pac-12 with 14 double-doubles this season while averaging 16.3 points and 8.6 rebounds. In conference play, he averaged 9.1 rebounds to lead all Pac-12 players. For the season, he is shooting 57.3 percent from the floor and 75.8 percent from the free throw line while also blocking 28 shots and coming away with 22 steals. He has also scored in double figures in 28 of 31 games so far this season.
Nnaji and the Wildcats will open Pac-12 Tournament play on Wednesday when they take on Washington at 2:30 p.m. (MST) at T-Mobile Arena.
