TUCSON, Ariz. - With the 2019-20 season officially in the books, we wanted to take a look back at the season that was filled with a number of outstanding statistical trends and performances.

Zeke Nnaji earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors to
Stone Gettings being named Pac-12 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and becoming one of three Wildcats to surpass 1,000 points in their college career to Nnaji and fellow freshmen
Nico Mannion and
Josh Green combining to score more points than any freshman trio in the country, it was a year to remember.

News and Notes from the 2019-20 season
- At the 2020 Pac-12 Tournament, the fifth-seeded Arizona Wildcats defeated 12th-seeded Washington, 77-70, in the first round. However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the remainder of the Pac-12 Tournament and NCAA Tournaments were canceled on March 12, effectively ending the college basketball season. The Wildcats were slated to take on USC in the quarterfinals on March 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
- Arizona finished the season with a 21-11 overall record, giving head coach Sean Miller 13 seasons with 20+ wins out of the 16 seasons he has been a head coach.
- Under head coach Sean Miller, Arizona improved to 18-7 (.720) at the Pac-12 Tournament. Overall, Arizona is 34-15 in the Pac-10/12 Tournament.
- Arizona finished the season 14th in the latest NET ranking (2nd in Pac-12) and a strength of schedule that ranks SEVENTH.
- In the Pac-12 Tournament win against Washington, the difference in the game came at the end of the first half and the start of the second half. Over the last 6:30 of the first half, Arizona did not make a field goal but was able to take a five point lead into the locker room. And then to start the second half, Arizona went on a 14-4 run over the first 5:45 to extend to a 15-point lead.
- After collecting 11 offensive rebounds against Washington in the Pac-12 Tournament, the Wildcats registered 10+ offensive rebounds in 17 of 19 games against Pac-12 teams this season. Arizona led the Pac-12 in offensive rebounding in conference play (11.67/gm) and was third in defensive rebounding (26.17).
- In conference play, Arizona ranked third in scoring (71.1) and second in fewest points allowed per game (65.1)
- For the season, Arizona was the only Pac-12 team that ranked in the top three in scoring offense and defense.
- UA finished second the Pac-12 in fewest turnovers/game (11.9), trailing Oregon State (11.5). It marks the fourth time in the last seven seasons that the Wildcats have finished second in the conference in fewest turnovers per game.
- In 32 games, Arizona scored 1,002 (31.3/game) points in the paint and 502 (15.7/g) fast break points.
- Arizona forced opponents into 14.6 turnovers per game, the highest average for any Sean Miller coached team at Arizona or Xavier.
- The 'Cats had seven games with 20 or more assists as a team, the first time since the 2007-08 season (eight games) that they had seven or more such games.
- The starting lineup for Arizona in the season opener against NAU featured three freshmen - Mannion, Green and Nnaji. It's the first time in program history that the first game of the season saw three freshmen in the starting lineup.
- Freshman Zeke Nnaji, who was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Pac-12 and was part of the Pac-12 All-Freshman team, led Arizona in overall scoring (515) and points per game (16.1), making him the first Arizona freshman to lead the team in scoring since Deandre Ayton in 2017. Nnaji also became just the sixth UA freshman since 2000 to score over 500 points in a season (Ayton, Markkanen, S. Johnson, Bayless, Arenas).
- Freshman Nico Mannion, who earned Second Team All-Pac-12 and was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, was second on the team in scoring (14.0) but led the team and finished second in the Pac-12 in assists (169). That total ranks third all-time in program history by a freshman. His assist-to-turnover ratio (2.06) also ranked second in the conference. He is the seventh Arizona player since the 1996-97 season to post a better than 2-to-1 ratio.
- Freshman Josh Green was the third Wildcat to average double figures in scoring at 12.0 per game. He led the team in steals with 46, which is the sixth-most by an Arizona freshman in program history. He also finished second on the team in rebounding (4.6).
- Nnaji, Mannion and Green combined to score 1,321 points on the season, the highest total by a freshman trio in the country this season. Their combined 42.1 points per game were also the most by a freshman trio in the country and the most by a Pac-12 freshman trio since 2012-13.
- Nnaji led the Wildcats in fouls drawn (168), with Josh Green (101) and Nico Mannion (97) second and third. In Pac-12 play, Nnaji was fouled 111 times in 19 games (5.8 per game).
- Graduate student Stone Gettings became the first Arizona men's basketball player to be named Pac-12 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He started the final 16 games of the year and averaged 7.8 points and 5.2 rebounds.
- Redshirt sophomore Jemarl Baker Jr. was the primary backup point guard and posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.2, which led all bench players in the country.
