Freshman Season (2019-20)
Second Team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team… earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors on Dec. 2… named Wooden Legacy MVP and to the all-tournament team… member of the Preseason All-Pac-12 First Team as well as the Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy Preseason watch lists… finished the season with 169 assists, the second-most by a freshman in the country during the 2019-20 season and the third-most ever by a freshman at Arizona… his 5.3 assists per game ranked second in the Pac-12… shot 79.7 percent at the free throw line, a percentage that ranks eighth all-time among Arizona freshmen and ninth overall in the Pac-12 for the season… made 53 3-point field goals, second on the team and the sixth-most by an Arizona freshman… averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the year… scored in double figures 25 out of 32 games, including six 20-point games… made at least one 3-point field goal in 28 of 32 games and six games of 3+ 3-point field goals made… had two double-doubles (points-assists) and three games with 10+ assists… he joined Mike Bibby and Russell Brown as the only Arizona freshmen to have two or more games with 11+ assists… scored nine points and had four assists in his collegiate debut against Northern Arizona (11/6)… in game two, he dropped 21 points, four rebounds, nine assists and two steals against Illinois (11/10)… tallied 22 points and eight assists against Long Beach State (11/24)… in the opener of the Wooden Legacy against Pepperdine (11/28), he finished with 16 points and 11 assists, capped off by making the game-winning layup with less than three seconds left… the next day, registered 24 points on 11-of-14 shooting in a win over Penn (11/29)… closed the event with nine points and seven assists against Wake Forest (12/1) in the championship, on his way to being named MVP of the tournament… against No. 6 Gonzaga (12/14), he went for seven points and 10 assists… perhaps his best all-around game, he had 12 points, seven rebounds (season high) and five assists in a win over Colorado (1/18)… scored 20 points and dished out seven assists while going 12-of-18 at the free throw line in a win against USC (2/6)… had 13 points and eight assists against Oregon (2/22)… was 4-of-7 from long distance while scoring 23 points and handing out seven assists against Washington State (3/5)… collected a season-high four steals to go with 14 points in a win over Washington (3/11) in the Pac-12 Tournament.

2019 McDonald’s All-American … Consensus five-star recruit and a top-15 prospect nationally … Mannion and fellow incoming freshman Josh Green became Arizona’s 25th and 26th McDonald’s All-Americans and are the fifth and sixth ESPN top-10 recruits to commit to UA since 2012 … 2019 Gatorade Arizona Player of the Year … Led Pinnacle High School to back-to-back Arizona state championships in 2018 and 2019 … Averaged 30.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.8 steals per game as a senior in high school … Selected third-team Naismith All-American in 2019 … Scored a game-high 28 points for Team World in the 2019 Nike Hoop Summit … His father, Pace, was a standout basketball player at Utah and played six years in the NBA before going overseas to continue his professional career.
