TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats 2020 recruiting class moved into the Top 10 of Baseball America's latest national rankings, checking in at No. 8. In a previous edition of the Baseball America rankings, issued in November 2019, Arizona was ranked No. 11.

The nationally-acclaimed 2020 class is headlined by three players in the Perfect Game Top 100 and is expected to arrive on campus in August. You can read more about the incoming class here.

"We are very excited about this recruiting class," head coach Jay Johnson said of the class on signing day. "It has a great blend of talented pitchers and hitters, and I believe this group matches extremely well with the players currently on our roster in regards to ability and chemistry. The 2020 class positions us well for a strong future. This group also brings a high level of character to our program that will represent the University and the team in a first-class manner on and off the field."

After the 2020 season was cut short, Arizona was selected to three projected NCAA Tournament fields by D1Baseball, Perfect Game, and College Baseball Nation. The combination of a strong core of returning players from the 2020 squad and a Top 10 incoming recruiting class earned the Wildcats a No. 13 ranking in Baseball America's "Never Too Early Top 25" published last month.
