TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field looks to compete in the Texas Tech Shootout in Lubbock, Texas on Friday and Saturday. Competition is set to kick off for the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. MST with Israel Oloyede in the men's weight throw. Running events will follow at 4:00 p.m. MST with Skylar Sieben in the 60m hurdles.

27 athletes will be making the trip to Lubbock including Logan Hasher and Lesley Mahlakoane who will be making their debut for Arizona. Other teams competing include Arizona State, Oklahoma State and top-25 ranked Baylor, BYU, USC, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and TCU.

The women's side will head into the weekend ranked 24th in the USTFCCCA rankings while three Wildcats with top 10 NCAA marks will be competing. Oloyede sits at third in the country with a weight throw mark of 22.43m (73-7.25). In the shot put, Jordan Geist has the seventh best throw of 19.97m (65-6.25) and on the women's side, Samantha Noennig holds the second best mark with a toss of 17.75m (58-3).

Last week, the team traveled to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Arkansas qualifier where the Wildcats put up three PRs, one top five NCAA mark and three event wins.
