TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona track & field will head to Colorado Springs, Colo. to compete in Championships at the Peak from Thursday, Feb. 25 to Saturday, Feb. 27.

With the Mountain West, MPSF, American, WAC and Big Sky conferences not sponsoring indoor championship meets this year, the Championships at the Peak will be a championship-style meet held at the Air Force's Cadet Field House during the traditional window of conference meets.

Action kicks off on Thursday at 11 a.m. MST with combined events. Dominic Gehr will compete in the heptathlon and Skylar Sieben will compete in the pentathlon.

The Wildcats are sending 20 student-athletes (11 men & 9 women), including some of the top throwers in the country. Samantha Noennig, Jordan Giest and Israel Oloyede, all own top-10 marks in the country and will be competing in their respective event this weekend.

Noennig comes into the meet with the top shot put throw in the country. On Feb. 12, she launched the shot put a personal-best 59-10.5 (18.25m).

Geist is No. 6 in the country in the shot put with a throw of 66-10 (20.37m), a mark he threw two weeks ago at the Texas Tech Shootout. Oloyede, the school record holder in the weight throw, is No. 3 in the country with a mark of 75-0.5 (22.87m), which also came at the Texas Tech Shootout two weeks ago.
