Seventh-Inning Rally Puts Cats on Top, 4-3

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (5-2) kept the basepaths congested all game and finally broke through with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure a 4-3 victory over Southeastern Louisiana (3-3) on Saturday afternoon.

The come-from-behind win sercured a series victory for Arizona, who will now go for the four-game series sweep on Sunday morning.

Center fielder Donta Williams and shortstop Jacob Blas kickstarted the rally with a leadoff walk and single to right field. After a Ryan Holgate walk to load the bases, left fielder Blake Paugh doubled home two runs to put Arizona on the board.

First baseman Branden Boissiere followed with an RBI single to tie the game and designated hitter Jacob Berry finished the job with a go-ahead RBI double.

Starting pitcher Garrett Irvin worked 3.0 innings and allowed one run on two hits - he did not factor into the decision. Right-hander Trevor Long, making his collegiate debut, tossed 1.2 scoreless relief frames and earned the win.

Veteran right-hander Quinn Flanagan closed out the final two frames for Arizona and allowed just one hit while striking out four to earn his first career save.
