Wildcats Drop Slugfest to Ducks, 18-13

TUCSON, Ariz. — Despite another offensive onslaught, the Arizona Wildcats (16-7, 3-3) dropped an 18-13 slugfest to the Oregon Ducks (12-6, 3-3) on Sunday afternoon.

Although they dropped the finale at Hi Corbett, Arizona still came away with the 2-1 series win over No. 16 Oregon.

The Wildcats offense scored in the double digits for the 10th time this year and got there with 17 base hits and four walks. Seven of Arizona's hits went for extra bases, four of which came from freshman catcher Daniel Susac who finished the afternoon with two doubles and two home runs.

Designated hitter Jacob Berry also enjoyed a standout afternoon at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI to extend his hit streak to eight games. Berry is now tied for the team lead with 11 multi-hit games.

Arizona starting pitcher TJ Nichols (3-1) took his first loss in a Wildcat uniform after working 3.2 innings and allowing five runs.
