STREAKONOMICS: Infielders Branden Boissiere and Kobe Kato are tied for the team lead with active 10-game hit streaks; both have hit safely in every game of the Wildcats current 10-game win streak. During his streak, Boissiere has hit .452 (19x42) with 13 runs, three doubles, 10 RBI, five walks, a .510 on-base percentage, a .571 slugging percentage, and six multi-hit performances. Kato has logged a .538 (21x39) batting average with 13 runs, five doubles, one triple, eight RBI, six walks, a .587 on-base percentage, a .718 slugging percentage, and seven multi-hit games during his streak. Outfielder Donta' Williams has reached base in 28 straight games, the longest active streak on the team and tied for the third-longest on-base streak of the Jay Johnson era. During his streak, dating back to March 13 versus Air Force, Williams has posted a .511 on-base percentage to go alongside a .340 (33x97) batting average, 35 runs, 28 RBI, 13 extra-base hits, and 22 walks.

BABY BOMBERS: True freshmen Jacob Berry (11) and Daniel Susac (11) have combined to hit 22 home runs this year. They are the first pair of Arizona freshmen to both hit double digit home runs in a single season in program history. On top of that, Berry and Susac are the most prolific true freshman power duo in the nation this season. Just one other schools in the country (Texas Tech) has two players classified as freshmen each with 9+ home runs, but both Red Raider players are not first-year freshmen. Berry's extensive accomplishments have earned him a pair of national recognitions with selections to the midseason watch lists for the Golden Spikes Award and the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award.

CAST AWAY: Arizona's bullpen has excelled at stranding inherited baserunners this year — as a group they have combined to inherit 139 baserunners and allowed only 49 of them (35.3%) to come around and score. Two relievers — senior right-hander Preston Price and freshman southpaw Riley Cooper — have been particularly adept at leaving baserunners longing. Price has inherited 22 baserunners and only allowed three (13.6%) of them to score. Price has inherited at least one baserunner in 10-of-12 appearances this year and has been saddled with multiple inherited runners in 7-of-12 outings. Twice this season — March 5 vs. Oklahoma and March 26 vs. Oregon — Price has inherited a bases-loaded situation and did not allow a single run to score. Cooper's 23 inherited runners lead the team and only six (26.1%) of them have scored.

CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS: With a record of 15-6 in Pac-12 contests the Wildcats have already secured, at worst, a .500 finish in conference play. Arizona's 15 Pac-12 wins matches their mark from 2019 and is two shy of the Jay Johnson era record 17 wins the 2016 team captured. With one more conference win this year, the Wildcats will secure a winning Pac-12 record for the fourth time in five tries under coach Johnson. Prior to his arrival in 2016, Arizona had finished above .500 in conference play three times in 10 years.

MILESTONE MEN: Several Wildcats are quickly approaching or have recently reached significant career milestones:
  • Donta' Williams has been hit by pitch 38 times in his career, 5th most all-time in program history. He is one HBP shy of tying Jason Donald (1995-98) for fourth all-time.
  • Donta' Williams (95) and Ryan Holgate (87) are both closing in on collecting 100 career RBI.
  • Vince Vannelle has 11 career saves and is now 8th all-time on Arizona's career saves leaderboard. He is two saves shy of moving into a tie for 6th all-time with Joe Estes (1983-86) and Carlos Rico (1991-92).
  • Vannelle's seven saves this year are tied for 10th most in a single season in program history. One more save would move him into a tie for 7th all-time.
  • Quinn Flanagan is one win shy of 10 career wins at Arizona.

LEADOFF LEGENDS: As a team, the Wildcats have combined to reach base in nearly half of their at-bats leading off an inning. In 358 chances this year, Arizona batters have reached base 166 times (.464). In leadoff situations the offense has combined to hit .316 (92x291) with a .444 on-base percentage, 52 walks, and 24 extra-base hits. First baseman Branden Boissiere has reached base in 24-of-37 (.649) opportunities as a leadoff batter and hits .517 (25x29) in those scenarios. Second baseman Kobe Kato has reached safely as a leadoff batter 18-of-32 times (.563) and is hitting .500 (14x28) when opening an inning.

BULL(PEN) MARKET: Arizona's bullpen has put together a standout performance in recent weeks. Since April 1, the Cats bullpen has gone 8-1 with a 2.93 ERA and seven saves. Among the notable perfomers during that stretch are RHP Quinn Flanagan, who sports a 0.77 ERA (1ERx11.2IP) with 11 strikeouts over six appearances, and RHP Chandler Murphy, who has gone 3-0 with a 1.56 ERA (3ERx17.1IP) and 25 strikeouts. RHP Dawson Netz (1.74 ERA) and RHP Vince Vannelle (2.08 ERA, 3 saves) have each made seven strong appearances during this run. Southpaw Gil Luna has logged four outings, 8.2 innings, and 13 strikeouts without allowing an earned run since April 1. Overall, the Arizona bullpen has limited opposing hitters to a .225 batting average over this stretch.
