HATS OFF TO ARIZONA BASEBALL
While the 2021 Arizona Baseball season has come to its official end, I want to congratulate the entire program on a fantastic season. All the student-athletes, coaches and support staff showed our true Bear Down spirit of determination in the face of numerous challenges to win a Pac-12 championship, host and win a regional and super regional, and end the season with an 18th trip to Omaha for yet another College World Series appearance.
I am impressed with our baseball program as it continues to solidify its place among the top programs nationally and proudly represents our university and department on the biggest of stages. It was also great to see capacity crowds at Hi Corbett Field during the postseason, which reaffirmed our gameday atmosphere as one of the best in the nation.
Tip of the cap to Arizona Baseball on another tremendous season. It was a privilege to watch you compete in Omaha. Bear Down and Go Cats!
BEAR DOWN IN TOKYO
The Tokyo Olympic games are quickly approaching, and a handful of current and former Wildcats have already punched their tickets for Japan. The softball trio of Dejah Mulipola, Danielle O'Toole Trejo and Taylor McQuillin will represent Team USA and Team Mexico with Delaney Schnell diving for the United States in a pair of events.
We have more Wildcats competing in the next week at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Former Arizona Golfer, Rory Sabbatini, has also punched his ticket for Tokyo to represent Slovakia in the Olympics.

With the conclusion of one of Arizona Athletics' most successful years on and off the field, I want to once again thank all our dedicated fans, donors, alumni and supporters for standing with us through a very challenging year. The start of the 2020-21 academic year was surrounded in uncertainty and doubt as the global COVID-19 pandemic delayed the start and shortened seasons.
As we progressed through the year, our athletics department established itself as a national leader in testing and health and safety protocols as we worked closely with the University of Arizona and Pima County Health Department.
Our thorough and comprehensive process continued to develop into the spring as we welcomed the Wildcat Family back into the stands as our programs displayed true excellence in their seasons. Our student-athletes and programs won conference championships, All-America honors, and made deep postseason runs in their quests for national championships.
This banner season of athletic and academic accomplishments could not be achieved without the unwavering commitment from the Wildcat Family. Our loyal supporters help power our athletics department's mission of providing opportunities for our student-athletes to become athletic, academic and life champions. The powerful generosity of our donors helped our Wildcat student-athletes fulfill their dreams. Your impact on the student-athlete experience at the University of Arizona is a fundamental part of our championship success. Let's make 2021-22 another year for the record books at Arizona Athletics, and help us Bear Down! Thank you again for helping make Arizona Athletics truly an exceptional place.
