RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Arizona Cross Country team will head back to Riverside, Calif., to compete in the UCR Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The event will again be located at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course and will get started at 8:00 a.m. MST with the men's 8k. Following that, the women's 6k will begin at 8:40 a.m. MST and live results for both events can be found here.

This will be the team's fourth competition of the season and follows their sweep at the Dave Murray Invitational, with victories for both the men's and women's teams. The women's side was led by Grace Driskill, who finished third overall in the 6k, and has finished first for the women in all of their competitions so far this year. Sailor Hutton, Mia Chavez, and Alisa Lyesina all finished within the top six as well, helping propel the women to victory. The women go into this meet having won their last two competitions with the Dave Murray Invitational and the UC Riverside Invitational.

The men's team win in the 8k was led by Ian Sanchez Lopez, who finished second overall and has now finished first for the team in their last two meets. Brennan Foody, who finished third overall, and Iker Sanchez Lopez, who finished fourth overall, both helped the men on their way to victory as well. Success was not just reflected in the team victories though, as 12 of the team's 17 runners posted improved personal bests.

This is the Wildcats second time in Riverside this season, as they competed in the UC Riverside Invitational earlier this year. In a field of 30 plus teams, the women won the meet while the men placed sixth. Arizona did not compete in the UCR Highlander Invitational last year.
