Replica Arizona Football Jerseys Available For NIL Apparel Sales

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Athletics' newest initiative to support Name, Image and Likeness opportunities for student-athletes launched on Friday with replica football jerseys going on sale. As part of the department's agreement with Fanatics and OneTeam Partners, custom licensed jerseys with last names and numbers are available exclusively online with portions of sales going directly to student-athletes as a NIL opportunity.

"Our athletics department continues to be at the forefront of the NIL space, and this partnership is another strategic opportunity to support Arizona student-athletes," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. "Our Arizona EDGE NIL program continues to grow the resources available to student-athletes to generate revenue from their Name, Image and Likeness as part of our Commitment to an Athlete's Total Success (C.A.T.S). Being an innovative leader in NIL is a foundational piece of our student-athlete experience that provides opportunities for student-athletes to become academic, athletic and life champions."

The ongoing partnership with Fanatics, which earlier released customized t-shirt and hooded sweatshirts with student-athletes' names and numbers, will grow with the addition of men's and women's basketball in the future as well as other programs later in the academic year. All student-athletes who participate in the program are eligible to receive compensation from the sales of items that include their names and numbers.

Fanatics, the global leader in licensed sports merchandise, is the official ecommerce partner of the Wildcats. The company will utilize its comprehensive on-demand jersey customization platform to power this program and apply the same robust jersey manufacturing and distribution capabilities that have made it the leader in the space across all professional sports.

Arizona continues to support its first-class experience for student-athletes through NIL and other initiatives announced this year. The department announced its "5980 Academic Fund" this summer to provide additional academic awards up to $5,980 a year while the launch of key external collectives have bolstered NIL opportunities for Wildcats. Arizona was also the first school in the Pac-12 Conference to launch its customized marketplace portal with INFLCR to connect student-athletes with the Southern Arizona community for NIL activities.
