Loville and Reese Named to Naismith Trophy Watchlist

ATLANTA, Ga. - Jade Loville and Cate Reese have been named to the 2023 Naismith Trophy Watchlist, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Friday.

With the duo's placement, Arizona has had at least one student-athlete on the watchlist for three consecutive seasons. Reese and Loville are two of nine Pac-12 athletes named to the list.

Loville arrives at Arizona as a fifth-year transfer from Arizona State and was a member of the media All-Pac-12 Team for the 2021-22 season after leading the conference in scoring (18.6 ppg). She additionally garnered honorable mention Pac-12 All-Defense honors for the 2021-22 season. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native is a Preseason All-Pac-12 team member and was named to the 2023 Preseason Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List.

Reese returns for a fifth season with the Wildcats after attaining AP All-America honorable mention honors in 2022. The forward is a three-time All-Pac-12 honoree and was named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team for 2022-23. In the 2021-22 season she tallied 19 double-doubles and reached the 1,500 point threshold, and her 14.3 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game led the Wildcats in the 2021-22 campaign. She is additionally on the 2023 Katrina McClain Award Watch List.

The midseason 30 team will be announced in early January, and then the competition will be narrowed down to 10 national semifinalists in early March. Following those results, four finalists will be named on March 21, 2023, and the winner of the 2023 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year will be announced on March 29, 2023.
