TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 14 Arizona dropped the second game of the series, 11-0 in five innings, to No. 20 Arizona State.
Arizona had two hits – both singles – from
Jasmine Perezchica and
Blaise Biringer – but the Wildcats couldn't score.
Arizona State had four home runs that brought in 10 runs and an RBI double to score 11 runs. Three of ASU's home runs were in the fifth inning when the Sun Devils scored seven runs.
Devyn Netz (8-4) was the losing pitcher after going 4.2 innings and giving up seven runs.
Madi Elish relieved Netz in the fifth, giving up four runs.
Jessie Fontes entered for Elish and faced the final batter, retiring her to end the fifth inning.
