Seven GymCats Post Career High Marks Against Oregon State

TUCSON, Ariz. – In Friday's matchup against Oregon State, seven GymCats posted career high marks to tally a team score of 195.925. The Cats ultimately fell to the Beavers who put up a score of 196.675.

"The team performed excellently," said head coach John Court. "At the end of the day, we wish we could have two routines back. Those two routines made the difference in the meet and the final score. We know at this point in the year, it takes 24 routines to be where we want to be in a month. The team knows what they're capable of and they're looking forward to getting back in the gym on Thursday at home and Saturday at BYU."

Vault
Both Malia Hargrove and Halli Mayberry put up career high marks in the vault. Hargrove placed second and scored a 9.900, leading the Cats to a vault score of 49.025, which is just 0.05 short of a season-high. Mayberry posted a 9.800, improving her previous best score of 9.750. Danielle Nosek was the second top-scorer on vault, putting up a 9.825 and tying her career high.

Uneven Bars
Alysen Fears highlighted the Cats' performance on the uneven bars, placing second in the event and scoring a career high 9.900. Bailey McCabe joined her, claiming her own personal best score of 9.875. Hargrove posted a 9.850 and Emily Mueller scored 9.825, both tying their career bests. The Cats earned 48.475 total points.

Balance Beam
Sirena Linton was the top-scorer in the balance beam, tallying 9.875 and finishing second to lead the way to the team score of 49.000. Caroline Herry and Mueller both posted scores of 9.825. 

Floor Exercise
Hargrove delivered a season-high routine on the floor, earning a 9.925 to place second and tie her personal best. Emily Mueller got her first 9.900 in the event, finishing fourth. Nosek earned a score of 9.875, giving her a career high as well. Elizabeth LaRusso made her career debut in the floor exercise, scoring 9.850. 

All-Around
Emily Mueller and Malia Hargrove competed in the all-around, placing third and fourth, respectively. Mueller scored 39.225 and Hargrove tallied 38.850.

"We're a good team and I'm proud of everybody," said coach Court. "We have more in the tank so we have to get back in the gym and get ready for Thursday."
