STANFORD, Calif. - The Arizona soccer team fell to No. 3 Stanford in a 2-0 decision in its third conference game of the season. Arizona's record stands at 4-4-3 (1-2 Pac-12) while Stanford remains undefeated at 10-0-1 (3-0 Pac-12).
Arizona controlled the first 10 minutes of the match with two quick shots by Marley Chappel and Nicole Dallin, but Stanford closed out the first half of the match with 11 shots and a pair of goals by Mya Doms in the 15th minute and Maryn Wolf in the 44th minute to lead 2-0 at half.
The Wildcats had seven shots on the day by six different players including Sarah Rice, Dallin, Cameron Valladares, Jordan Hall, Chappel and Sami Baytosh.
Stanford added to its lead in the 80th minute with a goal by Elise Evans to put the Cardinal up 3-0.
Hope Hisey saved five shots against the Cardinal, putting her career total at 326 career saves.
Arizona returns to action at 7:00pm on Thursday, Oct. 5th to take on No. 23 Washington State in Tucson.
