Wendell Moe Named to FWAA Mid-Season Freshman All-American Watch List

DALLAS, Texas - University of Arizona Football offensive lineman Wendell Moe has been named to the Football Writers Association Mid-Season Freshman All-American Watch List, as announced today by the FWAA.
Moe is one of 62 players selected to the FWAA Mid-Season Freshman All-American Watch List. He has solidified himself on the Arizona offensive line with 487 total snaps this season at left guard. Moe's overall ranking of 70.0 is third on the team behind Jonah Savaiinaea (2nd, 74.1) and Jordan Morgan (1st, 78.7).
Moe and the offensive line have put the Wildcats 23rd ranked total offense, 17th ranked red zone offense, and 5th ranked first down offense in the nation. Arizona is averaging 31.9 points per game which is good for 45th nationally.
The redshirt freshman from Long Beach, Calif., has a run-blocking rating of 65.9 per and a pass-blocking rating of 83.6 (per PFF) good for 3rd and 4th on the team. He has appeared in all seven games for the Wildcats posting 487 total snaps while allowing just two sacks and five hurries.
Arizona takes a BYE week prior to hosting No. 12 Oregon State (6-1, 2-1 Pac-12) at Arizona Stadium on Oct. 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. MST., and the matchup will be televised on ESPN.

The FWAA will unveil its 2023 Freshman All-American Team, sponsored by Chris Doering Mortgage, and the sixth annual Freshman of the Year Award in January. Paced by five selections from Florida, the SEC led all conferences on the current watch list with 14 members, followed by the Atlantic Coast's 11 and the Big 12's seven. The Big Ten and Mountain West both finished with six, and the Pac-12 added five. No other conference had more than three players on the list. Of the 62 players represented, 33 are true freshmen. Out of hometown states, Texas was the most represented with 10 selections. Georgia finished with eight, and California added five.
