NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Arizona Football sophomore linebacker
Jacob Manu has won the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week honors for his performance in the 27-24 win over No. 11 Oregon State during Week 9.
Jacob Manu finished with 9.0 tackles, two quarterback hurries, and one pass breakup in the win over the Beavers. He won the award based on an online vote finishing with 43.08% of the vote and edging Tysheem Johnson (DB) with Oregon (41.05%). It marks the first honor of this kind for Manu in his collegiate career.
Manu is a sophomore from Santa Ana, CA, who has been a mainstay on the field. Manu has been a starter from early in his freshman season and is currently the Wildcats leading tackler (68.0).
The Lott IMPACT® Trophy player of the week is determined in part by a panel of Lott Trophy board members, former players, and coaches, as well as members of the media. That panel represents sixty percent of votes, while an online fan vote is used to determine the other forty percent.
The Lott IMPACT® Trophy is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of athletics and recognizes college football's Defensive Player of the Year who best exemplifies the IMPACT acronym: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, and Tenacity.

JAYLEN REED, S, Penn State, Jr. – Led team with eight tackles, one for a loss, and had an interception in the Nittany Lions 33-24 win over Indiana.
