Tetairoa McMillan, and QB

Â
ABOUT LAST GAME: Noah Fifita threw for two touchdowns and No. 19 Arizona used a fast start to beat No. 16 Utah 42-18 on Saturday for its first five-game winning streak in nine years. The Wildcats (8-3, 6-2 Pac-12, No. 17 CFP) manhandled the two-time reigning Pac-12 champions from the opening drive, building a 28-0 lead by the first play of the second quarter. Utah (7-4, 4-4) tightened up after that despite playing without three of its best defensive players, but Arizona's defense was just as good in the final Pac-12 game at Arizona Stadium. The Wildcats intercepted passes by Bryson Barnes twice in their end and forced a turnover on downs near midfield to beat four AP Top 25 teams in a season for the first time since 1989. Fifita threw for 253 yards on 22-of-30 passing against a Utah defense missing rover Karene Reid, safety Cole Bishop and defensive end Jonah Elliss. Still, in the mix for a spot in the Pac-12 championship game, the Wildcats charged out of the gate like they still had something to play for. The Utes, out of the running for a third straight Pac-12 title, did not. Arizona revved up an already-charged crowd by scoring on its opening drive with a trick play. Receiver
Tetairoa McMillan caught a backward pass from Fifita and threw to a wide-open
Michael Wiley for a 21-yard touchdown.
Anthony Ward then juked a blocker, smothered Jack Bouwmeester's punt and returned it two yards for another score.
Montana Lemonious-Craig's 32-yard touchdown on a sideline pass made it 21-0 in the game's first 11 minutes. The Wildcats weren't done. Wiley turned another sideline pass into a 31-yard touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.
Jacob Manu spoiled Utah's first sustained drive with an interception at Arizona's 10, but Barnes regrouped and found Devaughn Vele on a 20-yard touchdown pass to pull the Utes within 28-7 at halftime. Neither offense could gain much traction until Noah Coleman bounced outside for a 1-yard touchdown that put Arizona up 35-10 in the fourth quarter.
ARIZONA FACES ARIZONA STATE FOR TERRITORIAL CUP: No. 16 Arizona (8-3, 6-2 Pac-12) plays the 97th matchup of the Territorial Cup against Arizona State (3-8, 2-6 Pac-12). The game will be broadcast on ESPN with Mark Jones (PxP), Louis Riddick (Analyst), and Quint Kessenich (Reporter) Â (analyst) on the call. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. MST. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 50-45-1 and are looking for their second straight win against rival Arizona State after taking down the Sun Devils 38-35 a year ago in Tucson. Arizona snapped a five-game losing streak against Arizona State with a three-point win in 2022.

The Wildcats are 18-24-1 in Tempe/Phoenix and 11-20-1 at formerly named Sun Devil Stadium, now Mountain America Stadium.
THE NATION'S OLDEST RIVALRY TROPHY: In summer 2001, officials at Arizona and Arizona State received NCAA Division I-A designation for the 1899 Territorial Cup as the oldest trophy for a rivalry game in America. The annual Arizona-Arizona State winner obtains possession of the Cup for its Hall of Fame, a replica goes to the winning school's president's office, and two later trophies used over the years in the hard-fought rivalry are awarded to the winning coach and the Most Valuable Player. On Thanksgiving Day in 1899, then Arizona Territorial Normal School defeated Arizona 11-2 in front of a reported 300 fans, and the Cup had its first curator. But over the years, the silver-plated antique prize was misplaced and supplanted by various other awards for the Big Game - the Governor's Trophy (1953-1979), a "Victory" sculpture by artist Ben Goo, and a Saguaro Trophy, among others. Now, to ensure the safety of the original trophy, the actual Territorial Cup moves from one school to the other only under escort and the supervision of gloved archivists. Each year, members of the media vote on the Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the game. Since 2008, the honor has been named the Bob Moran Most Valuable Player Award, named after the longtime East Valley Tribune sports reporter who also worked at the Arizona Daily Star for 13 years and covered both schools as a beat writer and columnist. The Ben Goo Trophy, awarded from 1979 to 1998 as the game trophy, has become the physical award given to the game's MVP. The Saguaro Trophy, a smaller bronze piece commissioned from artist Dora Perry in 1998, is presented and kept each year by the winning coach.
100 TACKLE CLUB: Sophomore
Jacob Manu enters the Territorial Cup with 98 total tackles, leading the conference. Should he surpass the 100-tackle mark, he would be the first Wildcat to record 100-plus tackles since Collin Schooler (119) in 2018. Schooler was named AP All-Pac-12 First Team following his season. 27 players in Arizona football program history have surpassed the 100-tackle mark in a single season. Only seven Arizona players have recorded 100-plus tackles in a single season since 2000.
IN THE RANKINGS: Arizona climbs to No. 16 in the AP Top-25 after beating four straight ranked opponents and winning five games in a row. Â The Wildcats defeated then No. 16 Utah 42-18 for their second win over Utah when both teams are ranked in matchup history. The Wildcats have won two games as a ranked team for the first time since 2014 when the Wildcats defeated No. 20 Utah and No. 13 Arizona State in back-to-back weeks. The last time the Wildcats have won three straight games while being ranked was 2015 when No. 22 Arizona opened the season with wins over UTSA, Nevada, and NAU to rise to No. 20 in the rankings. In 1998, the Wildcats went 3-1 as a ranked team with a win over No. 20 Washington (31-28), a loss to No. 5 UCLA (52-28), and wins over No. 12 Oregon (38-3) and No. 9 Nebraska (23-20) in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30 to close the 1998 season.
