Postgame Notes - Arizona at New Mexico State

-Arizona's win marked the Wildcats' ninth-straight win in a season opener.

-The Wildcats limited the Aggies to just 7.1% shooting and six points in the first quarter.

-Arizona outscored New Mexico State in the paint 40-20.

-It was a balanced scoring effort for Arizona with six athletes recording at least seven points.

-Eight of the nine Wildcats who saw playing time had at least one rebound.

-Kailyn Gilbert, Maya Nnaji and Jada Williams each got their first career starts against the Aggies.

-Breya Cunningham posted a double-double to open her Arizona career, totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds in addition to five blocks and two assists.

-Jada Williams was the first Wildcat with points in the 2023-24 season, dropping in a jumper in the first minute of play

-Skylar Jones made her first collegiate appearance, collecting one rebound

-Maya Nnaji was responsible for nine points (4-of-5), two rebounds, two assists and a steal in the third quarter alone.

-Kailyn Gilbert led Arizona in scoring for the third time in her career, tallying 16 points. Her nine rebounds were good for a career best.
