TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Football linebacker
Jacob Manu, in a vote on social media, has won his second straight Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week Honor, as announced today by the organization.
Manu has earned this honor for the second straight week after making nine tackles including 0.5 tackle for loss against Oregon State on Oct. 28 and tying a career-high with 12 tackles and 1.0 sack in the 27-10 win over then No. 19 UCLA. He recorded seven solo tackles and five assisted tackles as well as two quarterback hurries in the win.
The sophomore linebacker from Santa Ana is second in the Pac-12 with 80 total tackles this season. Manu has recorded 31 solo tackles and 49 assisted tackles, also he is fourth in the conference among linebackers in sacks with 4.5.
Manu recorded his fourth game this season in double-digit tackles, with three of four tying his career high with 12 tackles against Mississippi State, Stanford, and UCLA.
The Wildcats held the Bruins to just 10 points, well below their season-scoring average of 30.9. Arizona has held five consecutive ranked opponents below their scoring averages.
Arizona now boasts three wins against AP Top 25 teams in consecutive games, the first time the feat has been accomplished in program history. The Wildcats defeated No. 19 Washington State, 44-6, took down No. 11 Oregon State, 27-24, and sank No. 19 UCLA 27-10.
The Wildcats travel to Boulder to face the Buffaloes with a 12 p.m. MST kickoff on Pac-12 Network on Saturday, Nov. 11.
