Wildcats, Lancers Set for Midweek Matchup

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (4-3) and Cal Baptist Lancers (3-4) are set for a midweek tilt at Hi Corbett Field this Tuesday, Feb. 28. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. MST with a live web stream available via Pac-12 Insider.

Tickets for Tuesday's game are available for purchase and can be secured by visiting ArizonaWildcats.com/BSB.

The Wildcats won their finale against West Virginia on Sunday after dropping the first two games in the series; outfielder Mac Bingham had a career day in the finale to help Arizona salvage the series. The Lancers come to Tucson after dropped two games in a three-game road set at Nevada.

Tuesday's game will be the first traditional midweek of the year for Arizona. The Wildcats will also host midweek games at Hi Corbett Field against Utah Tech, Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, Arizona State, New Mexico, and Nevada this season.

  • The Arizona Wildcats and Cal Baptist Lancers face off in a midweek contest this Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field. It is game four of a seven-game homestand for Arizona.
  • The Wildcats and Lancers have never before met on the baseball diamond. They are one of four teams Arizona is playing for the first time this season, the others being UC San Diego (W, 9-8), Tennessee (W, 3-1), and West Virginia (lost series, 1-2).
  • Outfielder Mac Bingham drove in a career-high seven RBI on Sunday against West Virginia. He now has a team-leading 12 RBI on the year, which ranks third in the Pac-12.
  • The Wildcats have committed just four errors in their first seven games of the year, leading to a .986 fielding percentage that ranks third in the Pac-12 behind only UCLA (.991) and Washington (.988).
  • Junior outfielder Chase Davis was unanimously selected as a Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball (2nd Team), Perfect Game (2nd Team), Baseball America (3rd Team), D1Baseball (3rd Team), and the NCBWA (3rd Team). He was also named to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team and the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List.
  • Twenty eight (28) of the Wildcats 69 hits this season have gone for extra bases — 20 doubles, two triples, and six home runs. Arizona ranks t-1st in the conference in doubles and 4th in extra-base hits.
  • Arizona has turned eight double plays this season, tied for second most in the conference and t-14th nationally. Their 57 twin killings last season led the Pac-12 and ranked 4th nationally.
