SPOKANE, Wash. – The Wildcats wrapped up the three-day WSU Open/Invite & Multi's on Saturday with a flurry of top finishes.
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
Rylee Perkins was the lone Wildcat competitor in the field events today, but she made the most of it with an indoor PR leap of 12.24m (40-2) in the women's triple jump. She finished second overall.
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Trayvion White-Austin, who ran a 6.79, and
James Onanubosi, who ran a PR of 6.84, both qualified for the men's 60m dash final. In the final, White-Austin finished third overall with a time of 6.76, and Onanubosi finished fourth overall with another personal best time of 6.81. Additionally,
Sir Jonathan Sims clocked a 7.03 in his first 60m of the season.
Reinaldo Rodrigues also set a personal best with a time of 7.10. In the women's 60m,
Neysia Howard ran a 7.59 to finish tenth.
Carl Hicks placed third in the men's 400m after clocking a time of 47.71, which was 0.02 seconds off his personal best. Additionally,
Brayden Hasher ran a PR of 48.86 and finished sixth.
In the men's mile,
Iker Sanchez Lopez finished fourth overall with a time of 4:06.96. He was followed closely by
Cooper Quigley, who ended in fifth after a PR time of 4:07.07.
The Wildcats had a pair of top three finishers in the women's 3k:
Brigid Hanley and
Sailor Hutton. Hanley placed second with a time of 9:37.88 and Hutton finished third with a time of 9:38.05.
To end the night and the meet, the men's 4x400m team finished second overall in a tightly contested race.
Carl Hicks,
Evan Simmons,
Diego Marquez, and
Brayden Hasher combined to run a 3:14.57.

Looking forward, the Wildcats will travel to Albuquerque, NM, for the Don Kirby Invitational on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday Feb. 11.
