Track and Field Heads to New Mexico for Don Kirby Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Wildcats will continue their season on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 with the Don Kirby Invitational hosted by New Mexico.

Friday marks the start of the two-day event with the men's pole vault kicking things off at 10:00 a.m. MST. Running events won't begin until 1:30 p.m. MST on Friday with the men's 200m. Saturday's field events will begin at 8:30 a.m. MST with the women's pole vault, and track events will start at 9:30 a.m. MST with the women's 60m hurdles. Results for both days can be found here.

The Wildcats will be travelling a large number of competitors this week, as opposed to last week's competition in Spokane, Wash., for the WSU Open/Invite & Multi's. The team still saw a multitude of personal records set in Spokane, which has been a consistent trend in their four meets so far this year that the team will look to continue.

Arizona's top finisher last weekend was their women's distance medley relay team which consisted of Sailor Hutton, Neysia Howard, Alisa Lyesina, and Brigid Hanley. The squad won the event on the second day of competition. Additionally, the Wildcats had five second-place finishers: Reinaldo Rodrigues (long jump), Alisa Lyesina (800m), Carl Hicks (200m), Rylee Perkins (triple jump), and Brigid Hanley (3k). Jordan Geist and Talie Bonds, who have both set new school records this year, will also be competing in Albuquerque.

A meet recap will be posted to ArizonaWildcats.com detailing the competition results. Live updates will also be posted to @ArizonaTrack on Twitter.
