ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Arizona Track and Field finished up day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday. Talie Bonds led the way for the Wildcats, matching her school record and qualifying for the final in the 60m hurdles.

Talie Bonds started things off strong for the team in the women's 60m hurdles. Bonds matched her school record and personal best time of 8.01 and finished eighth overall in the event to advance to the final tomorrow. She edged out the ninth-place finisher by 0.02 seconds to secure the last spot in the final.
 
Jordan Geist missed the cut in the men's weight throw after fouling his first three throws and didn't qualify for the final. However, Geist still finishes as an All-American in the event since he made it to the indoor championships, which is an incredible feat for his secondary event. He will get a second chance tomorrow in the men's shot put, as he enters the event as the highest ranked thrower in the NCAA.
 
The indoor championships will continue tomorrow with all three Wildcats competing. Alexa Porpaczy will start things off in the women's high jump at 1:00 p.m. MST. She will be followed by Bonds in the women's 60m hurdles final at 4:40 p.m. MST, and Geist in the men's shot put at 7:00 p.m. MST. Live results for all the events can be found here.
