TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Wildcats continued to fine-tune the offense and defense as we move closer to the first scrimmage of spring camp. Arizona holds its first scrimmage of spring inside Arizona Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m. 

Arizona worked on the details of the offense during Day 7 of Spring Camp on the Tomey Practice Fields. From pressure-packed big kicks to hand placement and pad level on blocking, the Wildcats repeated and refined the details of the game during practice. 

Defensive back Charles Yates Jr. came away with a big interception that energized his teammates on defense and Jonah Coleman once again showed his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and break away for a big play. 

On script or off script, the quarterbacks and wide receivers continue to grow a connection and work on timing during individual drills on Bear Down Beach. The growth and development of the young players on offense and defense continue to shine through at the halfway point of spring camp. 

Wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings, and wide receivers Jacob Cowing and Tetairoa McMillan caught up with the media after practice.

"Yeah, I do and the biggest thing is these guys know, and there's no secret to our wide receiver group, they have to prove that I can afford to have T-Mac and Jacob off the field. They gotta be out there and they have to be right and they have to make plays. If Malachi Riley shows that he's talented enough to make plays, I have no problem playing him" - Coach Cummings.
