CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Arizona Wildcats (23-16, 9-13) dropped game one to the Oregon State Beavers (28-13, 12-10) on a final score of 2-1 on Friday night at Goss Stadium.
Wildcats starting pitcher
Cam Walty gave the team a heroic effort, working seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. He held the Beavers to just one hit and extended his scoreless innings streak to 21.2. Walty did not factor into the decision.
The Cats only run of the night came on a straight steal of home from shortstop
Nik McClaughry in the top of the fifth inning. McClaughy drew a one-out walk, moved to third on a single from
Chase Davis, and stole home to get Arizona on the board.

Trevor Long worked a scoreless eighth inning as the first man out of the Wildcats bullpen.
