PALO ALTO, Calif. – The No. 20 Wildcats lost 2-3 to No. 7 Stanford on Friday night. Arizona dropped to 24-14 (3-8 Pac-12).

Olivia DiNardo went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run – her sixth of the season – to lead Arizona.

The Wildcats and the Cardinal kept each other scoreless through four and a half innings until Stanford hit a solo home run in the fifth. Stanford added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double and an RBI single for a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the sixth, DiNardo hit a two-run homer to bring the Cats within one run but Arizona couldn't complete the comeback.

Freshman
Aissa Silva (2-1) picked up her first loss of the season after pitching 4.0 innings but giving up two runs. Silva struck out three Cardinal and retired nine straight.
Ali Blanchard relieved Silva in the fifth and allowed one run to score.
Devyn Netz closed the game in the sixth, allowing one hit and no runs.
