PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - The inaugural Acrisure Classic has announced that Arizona will take on Michigan State at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, Calif. on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023. The game will start at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time and will be televised nationally on FOX following the NFL game featuring the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
Both teams will play two games as part of the Acrisure Invitational, with the first game being on-campus against different non-conference opponents to be determined.
This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two storied programs, with Arizona holding a 5-2 lead in the series. The last meeting came on Nov. 11, 2016, in Honolulu, Hawaii as part of the Armed Forces Classic, where Arizona prevailed, 65-63. Other neutral site meetings include a 2005 matchup at the Maui Invitational that the Spartans won, 74-71 in overtime, and in 2001 at the Final Four in Minneapolis – an 80–61 victory for the Wildcats. The Acrisure Invitational and the final round game, Acrisure Classic, will be held at the Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs. This amazing matchup will be the first college basketball game played at Southern California's newest world-class venue, Acrisure Arena, which opened in December 2022.
Tickets for the final round of the Acrisure Classic go on sale Wednesday, May 17 at 10:00 Pacific Standard Time and will be available at the Acrisure Arena box office, online at acrisurearena.com and ticketmaster.com.
