TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona men's basketball program and head coach Tommy Lloyd announced the signing of Spanish guard Conrad Martinez to a National Letter of Intent. Martinez will join the Wildcats as a freshman for the 2023-24 season.

His best days as a basketball player are definitely ahead of him and we look forward to helping him take those next steps."
The 6-foot point guard has played at various levels across Spain, including with the Joventut team that captured the Spanish Championship to qualify for the ANGT finals in 2023. Over the seven games of the ANGT tournament, Martinez averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 assists and 1.7 steals while connecting at a 35.7% clip from the 3-point line.
He also played for El Prat in the LEB Silver league and averaged 17 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists with Joventut B in the EBA league during the 2022-23 season.
During the summer of 2022, he was a key part of Spain's U17 national team capturing a silver medal at the FIBA Basketball World Cup. In the seven contests, he averaged 9.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists, including a 9-point, 6-assist effort in a loss to the United States in the gold medal game. His best game of the tournament came against Canada in the round of 16, scoring 14 points on 3 of 6 shooting from the 3-point line and also adding six rebounds and three assists.
