TUCSON, Ariz. — Following one of the best slugging seasons in program history, Arizona outfielder Chase Davis has picked up Second Team All-America recognition from D1Baseball, the publication announced on Thursday.

This marks the fourth All-America selection for Davis this season and the fifth year in a row that Arizona has landed at least one player on the D1Baseball All-America rosters. Davis is the first Arizona outfielder to ever earn D1Baseball All-America honors.

Davis, a junior, finished the 2023 season tied for the Pac-12 lead and ranked 29th nationally with 21 home runs, the third most in a single season in program history. His 39 career home runs also rank third all-time at Arizona.

Over the course of 57 games the left-handed power hitter posted a career-best .362 batting average that paced the team. He added 71 runs scored, 17 doubles, two triples, 74 RBI, 43 walks, a .489 on-base percentage, and a .742 slugging percentage. Davis' 19 multi-RBI efforts were the second most on the team, while his 23 multi-hit performances were fourth.

Davis was also a major contributor to the Wildcats improved defense in 2023, starting 57 of the team's 59 games in left field and posting an impressive .964 fielding percentage while tallying five outfield assists and numerous highlight reel catches.
