Jacob Cowing Named AP Preseason Second-Team All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona Football wide receiver Jacob Cowing has been named Associated Press Preseason Second-Team All-American, as announced today by the organization.

Cowing earns a preseason AP Second-Team All-American nod for the first time since joining the Wildcats in the spring of 2022. He led the Pac-12 in receptions (85), fourth in receiving yards (1,034), and tied for second in touchdown grabs (7) last season.

The senior from Maricopa adds this honor to a list of preseason recognition, including preseason All-Pac-12 Second Team; preseason Biletnikoff Award Watch List; Paul Hornung Award Watch List; and the Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List.

The preseason All-American Teams are named by voters in the AP Top 25.

The Arizona Wildcats opens the 2023 football season at home against Northern Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.

Center — Zach Frazier, fourth-year, West Virginia.

Tight end — Oronde Gadsden, third-year, Syracuse.

Wide receivers — Xavier Worthy, third-year, Texas; Malik Nabers, third-year, LSU; Jacob Cowing, fifth-year, Arizona.

All-purpose player — Will Shipley, third-year, Clemson.

Kicker — John Hoyland, third-year, Wyoming.

DEFENSE

Edge rushers — J.T. Tuimoloau, third-year, Ohio State; Dallas Turner, third-year, Alabama.

Interior linemen — Tyler Davis, fifth-year, Clemson; Mekhi Wingo, third-year, LSU.
