TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona announced that Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, Wildcat legends and stars of the popular podcast "Road Trippin'," along with co-host Allie Clifton, will host the highly-anticipated 2023 First Watch Red-Blue Showcase on Friday, September 29, at 7:30 PM, in the McKale Center.

Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye will be available to the media on Zoom tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:30 AM PT. 

Jefferson and Frye's return to Tucson for this event underscores their unwavering commitment to their alma mater and the Arizona basketball community.

Clifton, the current Los Angeles Lakers pregame TV host, and the NBA veterans have brought fans closer to their favorite NBA players and personalities through their candid conversations and storytelling. This partnership promises to infuse the Red-Blue Showcase with the same humor, insight, and enthusiasm that have made their podcast a hit.

Jefferson was a three-year standout for the Wildcats (1998-2001) and helped lead Arizona to the Final Four in 2001, where he was named to the All-Final Four team and the Pac-10 all-freshman team in 1999. He was the 13th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft and earned NBA All-Rookie Team honors in 2002. A veteran of 17 NBA seasons, Jefferson was part of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers team that won the NBA championship.

In his four seasons in Tucson (2001-05), Frye was part of three Pac-10 championship teams and named first team all-conference twice, in addition to the Pac-10 all-freshman team. His 1,789 points are the ninth most in program history, while his 258 career blocked shots still rank second. He went on to play 13 seasons in the NBA, earning NBA All-Rookie honors in 2006 and becoming an NBA champion in 2016 with the Cavaliers. 

The First Watch Red-Blue Showcase is an annual event that provides fans with a unique opportunity to get a first look at the Arizona Men's Basketball Team in action. Highlights of the evening include player and coaching staff introductions, thrilling on-court competitions, and an exciting scrimmage to end the evening.
