EUGENE, Ore. - Helena Pueyo grabbed her 250th career steal and Jada Williams scored 23 points, but Oregon defeated Arizona 70-68 in Eugene on Sunday.
Williams led the squad in scoring with 23 points, Kailyn Gilbert dropped 15 and Breya Cunningham had 10. Pueyo was everywhere on the court, stuffing the stat sheet with 11 points, seven steals, seven assists, two rebounds and two blocks.Â
Despite a low-scoring first quarter, Arizona (10-7, 2-3 Pac-12) scored 20 points in the second period on 58.8% shooting.Â
The Wildcats opened the fourth period on a 8-2 run led by six points from Gilbert. The Cats shot 60.0% in the final frame but were unable to overcome the nine-point deficit they faced at the start of the quarter. Williams scored 13 of her points in the fourth, going 4-of-4 from the field and making a trio of three-pointers.
The Cats forced 27Â Oregon turnovers, the most by the Ducks in a game this season. Arizona made 17 assists in the game for its second-most in a Pac-12 game this year.
Arizona will be back in action Friday, Jan. 18 at Washington. The game will tip off at 8:00 p.m. MST on Pac-12 Arizona.
