TUCSON, Ariz. – The Big 12 Conference announces the inaugural 2024 Arizona Football Conference schedule today. The Wildcats, led by Head Coach Brent Brennan, open conference play at Utah on Sept. 28.
The Wildcats open the season with three non-conference games against New Mexico scheduled for Aug. 31, Northern Arizona on Sept. 7, and a big road tilt at Kansas State on Friday, Sept. 13, which does not count toward conference standings.
Arizona plays its first home Big 12 conference game against former Border Conference rival Texas Tech on Oct. 5, a rivalry that has played 32 matchups since 1932.
The Wildcats play nine conference games with two BYE weeks, opening Big 12 play on the road at Utah (9/28) and then the home opener against Texas Tech (10/5), a road game at BYU (10/12), back-to-back home games against Colorado (10/19) and West Virginia (10/26), and the longest road trip of the season to UCF (11/2) before the final BYE week of the season.
Arizona ends the regular season with two of three at home including a home game against Houston (Friday, 11/15), a road game at TCU (11/23), and the 98th Territorial Cup against Arizona State on Nov. 30 at Arizona Stadium.
Arizona opens its first season as a Big 12 Conference member on Aug. 31 against New Mexico at Arizona Stadium. The Wildcats begin conference play on Sept. 28 at Utah.
Big 12 programs will continue to play nine league games without divisions. Regular season league play concludes over Thanksgiving weekend with a full slate of eight games. The Conference season culminates with the 2024 Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship Game on Saturday, December 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
