TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona kicker
Tyler Loop earns Lou Groza Award Star of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced today by the organization.
Loop made a program record five of six field goal attempts with kicks of 47, 40, 30, 37, and 52 yards to score 15 of the Wildcats 22 points against Texas Tech on Saturday.
This is his second Lou Groza Award Star of the Week honor this season on the heels of earning his first Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.
The senior from Lucas, Texas set a new Arizona Football program record with five made field goals and has made eight of his last 10 field goal attempts. Loop booted five kickoffs into the end zone and made one extra point.
Loop has 299 career points, the fourth most in program history. He is 14 shy of passing Ka'Deem Carey (312 points, 2011-13) for third all-time. He is third among active FBS kickers in career-field goal percentage (84.7%, 61-of-72).
