FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona women's basketball dropped its first game, 75-92, to Northern Arizona at the RolleActivity Center on Wednesday evening.
Paulina Paris led the Wildcats with a season-high 20 points and eight rebounds, delivering on both ends of the court. Sahnya Jah followed with a career-high 16 points and three rebounds, while Mailien Rolf and Breya Cunningham added 10 and 11 points, respectively. Paris also accounted for three of Arizona's five three-pointers.
The Wildcats struggled with foul trouble early, with both Isis Beh and Breya Cunningham fouling out with over five minutes remaining in the game.
Arizona shot 46.9% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc (5-for-16, 31.3%) and the free-throw line (10-for-18, 55.6%). Northern Arizona shot 60% in the third quarter, 43% overall, and converted 22 of 29 free throws (75.9%).
Nyah Moran led NAU with 22 points, one of six Lumberjacks who scored in double figures, sealing the Wildcats' first loss of the season.
Arizona (5-1) will look to bounce back in their next game as they return home to face Grambling State Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 6 p.m. MST.
