Adia Barnes Signs Jasmine "Jazzy" Gipson

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona head women's basketball coach Adia Barnes has signed Jasmine "Jazzy" Gipson to the Wildcats basketball program for the 2025-26 season. Gipson announced her commitment Wednesday evening in front of friends and family.

The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native is known in the high school circuit for her versatility as a post player, her lockdown defense, and her ability to knock down shots from outside. Gipson currently ranks in the top 100 nationally according to MaxPreps for three-pointers made, with 14 through seven games this season. She has received nearly 20 Division I offers, including from the University of New Mexico, Hawaii, and Omaha, among others.

  • Height: 6-0
  • Position: Small Forward
  • High School: Duncanville HS
    • Helped lead the Duncanville Pantherettes to their 12th State Championship, the first since 2020
    • Named a key player for No. 9-ranked Duncanville on the 2024 Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 list
    • Selected to the RSportz Texas Charter School Academic & Athletic League All-Region Team for the 2023–2024 season
    • Named to the 2024 BeYOUtiful Basketball Classic All-Tournament Team
