TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track & Field unofficially opens the 2024-25 season on Saturday with a pair of home competitions. The day begins with the All Comers Meet which is an open competition for registered unattached athletes. Following that, the Wildcats will compete against one another in their intrasquad Red-White-Blue Challenge for team bragging rights.
 
The All Comers Meet kicks off Saturday's events at 9:00 a.m. MST. The Red-White-Blue Challenge will follow after the conclusion of the All Comers Meet. It is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. MST. The whole day of competition is free and open to the public to attend. Results will be posted at the end of day, with live updates for all events posted throughout the competition on X (@ArizonaTrack).
 
This preseason event provides an opportunity for the team to compete before the start of their indoor season on Jan. 10 (Friday Night Axe 'Em Open in Flagstaff, Ariz.). For the intrasquad competition, the Wildcats have been split into three teams. Newcomers are drafted by team captains and remain with the team for their Wildcat careers. The top three picks this year were Yan Vazquez (White), Sylvan Osman (Blue), and Tyson Tippett (Red). Picks four through ten were Gideon Mengich (White), McKenna Watson (Blue), Sam Hala'ufia (Red), Lydia Russell (White), Ousman Jagne (Blue), Christian Simmons (Red), and Kaleb Kimaita (White).
 
Last year, the Red Team won the intrasquad challenge, followed by the Blue Team and the White Team. The Red Team dominated the competition, posting a score of 225, with the Blue Team scoring 127, and the White Team scoring 121.
