LUBBOCK, Texas & SEATTLE, Wash. – Arizona Track & Field opened the weekend on Friday with the Texas Tech Jarvis Scott Open in Lubbock and the Husky Invitational in Seattle. Most of the team competed at Texas Tech, while the distance crew ran at Washington.
Trayvion White-Austin stole the show for the Wildcats, breaking the school record in the men's 60m with a time of 6.63.
Zach Landa and
Jenica Bosko also posted top-three finishes on the day for the team.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
TEXAS TECH
Zach Landa notched a top-three finish in the men's weight throw, posting a mark of 67-10.75 (20.69m) and placing third.
Youssef Koudssi had a big throw of 59-5 (18.11m) in the event which is a new personal best.
In the women's long jump,
Jenica Bosko finished third overall with a mark of 19-11 (6.07m). She has finished in the top three in all the long jump competitions she's competed in so far this year. Both
Taylen Wise and
Lauryn Ford had jumps right around their personal bests, with Wise going 19-8 (5.99m) and Ford going 19-4 (5.89m).
The Wildcats had three finishers in the top nine of the men's long jump:
Sir Jonathan Sims,
Pierce LaCoste, and
Reinaldo Rodrigues. Sims was the top finisher for the team, posting a personal best jump of 25-0 (7.62) to help him finish fifth overall. LaCoste placed seventh with a leap of 24-4.25 (7.42m) and Rodrigues finished ninth with a jump of 24-0.75 (7.33m).
Ava David started the day for the Wildcats with the women's weight throw, placing seventh overall. Both
Tapenisa Havea and
Lauryn Love posted personal best marks in the event as well.

It was another school record performance for
Trayvion White-Austin this season, but this time in the men's 60m. In the first round of the event, White-Austin ran a 6.67, which was the fastest time overall. That time also marked a personal best and was just 0.01 seconds off the school record. In the next round, White-Austin was finally able to mark another school record off his list, running a time of 6.63 and finishing fifth overall. The previous 60m record was a time of 6.66 run by Tyrell Johnson in 2015. Although he did qualify for the event's final, he did not start in preparation for tomorrow's 200m.
James Onanubosi also clocked a personal best in the men's 60m first round with a time of 6.74. White-Austin and him finished first and second in their heat. He then advanced to the next round of the competition and again ran a time of 6.74 but did not make the cut for the event's final.
Hollan Powers had a strong performance in the women's 60m hurdles, posting two personal bests on the day. In the first round of the event, Powers clocked a PB time of 8.45 and won her heat to automatically advance to the next round. She followed that up with an even faster time of 8.41, further lowering her PB and advancing to the competition's final. In the final, Powers placed seventh overall with a time of 8.47.
Based on seed time, freshman
Jade Brown automatically qualified for the second round of the women's 60m. In the event she clocked a time of 7.39, just narrowly missing out on advancing to the event final. Additionally,
Lauryn Ford finished with a time of 7.68 in the first round of the event, nearly running a personal best time.
In the first round of the men's 60m hurdles,
Zachary Extine finished within the top 16 and advanced to the competition's next round with a personal record time of 8.04. He ran a time right around his previous best in the second round of competition, but it was not enough to advance to the final.
Twin brothers Christian and
Evan Simmons placed seventh and eighth overall in the men's 800m, with Christian posting a personal record time of 1:53.98.
In the women's 400m,
Antonia Sanchez Nunez ran a time of 55.04 and
Ava Simms clocked a time of 55.59. In the men's 400m,
Jacob Samford finished 12th with a time of 47.27 and
Isaac Davis finished with a time of 47.31.
WASHINGTON
Only three Wildcats ran on Friday night at the Husky Invitational for the distance squad.
Sailor Hutton was the top finisher amongst them, clocking a big personal best time of 9:27.01 in the women's 3000m.
