TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's
Regan Shockey has been tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference announced on Monday.
Shockey's recognition comes after a standout week at the Bear Down Fiesta. The freshman from Chino Hills, Calif. led the Wildcats with a .688 batting average, 11 hits, and eight runs.
In Arizona's upset over then-No. 15 Arkansas, she scored the winning run to walk-off the Razorbacks on Friday night of the Bear Down Fiesta. In addition, Shockey recorded two hits in five of Arizona's six games and plated a pair of runs in three games during the weekend to help the Wildcats finish 5-1 at the invitational.
Shockey leads the conference and ranks 10th among NCAA freshman in batting average (.517). She ranks third in the Pac-12 and in the nation with 15 hits.
