Wildcats Top Trailblazers, 24-4

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats (3-1) dropped two dozens runs on the Utah Tech Trailblazers (1-4) en route to a 24-4 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Hi Corbett Field.

Arizona's offense cranked out 24 runs on 23 hits, only six of which went for extra bases. Left fielder Brendan Summerhill led the way with a generational performance, logging the first six-hit game by a Wildcat in 20 years. He finished the game going 6-for-6 with three runs scored, two doubles, and five RBI.

True freshman right-hander Bryce McKnight earned the start on the mound and worked one inning while not factoring into the decision. Left-hander Eric Orloff (1-0) followed out of the bullpen and tossed two scoreless, one-hit innings while striking out three to earn his first win of the year.

Five more Arizona relievers combined to cover the remaining six innings and did not allow a single earned run. In total, the Wildcats bullpen allowed just four hits and struck out 11 in their eight innings of work.

Shortstop Mason White swatted his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to dead center field in the third inning, while right fielder Emilio Corona hit his third of the young season, a solo blast that bounced off the video board in left field.
